Q: How do I choose the right type of travel insurance?

The right type of travel insurance depends on where your travels will be taking you, how much your trip will cost and how much cover you'd like to include. If you are planning more than two trips in the next year, it may save you time and money to purchase an annual multi trip policy. For international trips, you can decide between our medical only plan and a more traditional travel insurance plan that includes travel delay benefits. Q: When does my policy start?

Trip cancellation benefits start immediately when your policy is issued. All other benefits, such as emergency medical and dental coverage, begin on the date of your departure (as shown on your policy).

Q: Am I covered if a large event occurs overseas?

For many large scale events that occur around in the world, we will prepare specific advice which is available on our website. This advice will give you an understanding of the event and exactly what we are covering in relation to it. If there is no advice posted on a specific event you want to know about, please contact the BYOjet customer service team directly on 1300 72 88 22.

Q: Can I change my mind about travel insurance?

You can cancel or change your travel insurance policy any time before you leave on your journey. If you cancel within 15 working days of the date the policy was issued (and you haven't left on your journey or made a claim), you will receive a full refund - no questions asked!
